To qualify for a tax waiver in Phelps County, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- You are new to our state.
- You are a former resident returning to Missouri from another State and no unpaid personal property taxes are due in Phelps County or any other Missouri County.
- You lived in Phelps County on January 1st of the year in question but you did not have any personal property titled in your name.
Waivers are vehicle specific, therefore, you will need to show us (in person,via email, or text) the front and back of the title OR application for title in order to receive a tax waiver. There are several bits of information we need to check on those documents to be sure we are providing you exactly what you need.
There is no fee for a tax waiver.
